Amyga Foundation ("Amyga", "we", "us", or "our") operates the Vidya Vriddhi mobile application (the "App").

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect personal information through the App.

Vidya Vriddhi is an educational and administrative application used by authorized Amyga teachers and administrators to manage teacher information, student information, attendance, and educational activities.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Teacher Information

For authorized teachers, the App may process:

• Name

• Email address

• Job title or role

• Languages known

• Date of joining Amyga

• Leave applications and leave records

Teacher accounts are created and managed by authorized Amyga administrators. Teachers do not create accounts themselves through the App.

1.2 Student Information

The App may process information about students participating in Amyga's educational programs, including:

• Student name

• Age

• Centre attended

• Teacher(s) assigned to the student

• Academic and educational progress

Student academic and progress information is entered by authorized teachers as part of their educational responsibilities.

Some students may be children or otherwise minors. Student information is handled only for legitimate educational and administrative purposes.

1.3 Location Information

The App may access the device's location using Google Play services Location.

Location information is transmitted to Amyga's own API and is used for:

• Recording and verifying attendance; and

• Authorized live location tracking where this functionality has been enabled for the relevant user and purpose.

Location information is not used for advertising or unrelated purposes. The App does not sell location information.

2. How We Use Information

• Maintain teacher records;

• Maintain student records;

• Assign teachers to students and centres;

• Manage teacher leave applications and leave records;

• Record and verify attendance;

• Provide authorized live location tracking;

• Record and monitor student academic progress;

• Support teachers in delivering educational programs;

• Support Amyga administrators in managing educational centres and personnel;

• Communicate with authorized teachers and staff;

• Maintain and secure the App and its supporting systems;

• Investigate and resolve technical or security issues; and

• Comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.

We do not use personal information for advertising or behavioral advertising.

3. Location Collection and Use

Vidya Vriddhi uses the device's location to support teacher attendance and authorized live location tracking during working hours.

The App obtains location information using Google Play services Location and transmits the relevant location information to Amyga's own API.

Background Location

When authorized live location tracking is active, the App may collect and transmit the teacher's location in the background, including when the App is minimized, the device screen is locked, or the App is not otherwise visible to the user.

Background location is used to support authorized live tracking of teachers during their working hours and is part of Amyga's attendance and administrative operations.

Background location tracking is automatically limited to the teacher's authorized office hours. It is turned off outside those hours and is also disabled during holidays and approved leave periods.

Location information is not collected for live tracking when the teacher is outside the applicable authorized tracking period.

Location information is not used for advertising, behavioral profiling, or unrelated purposes. Amyga does not sell, rent, or trade location information.

Teachers may need to grant the Android location permissions requested by the App for attendance and authorized live-tracking functionality. Disabling the required location permission may prevent some attendance or live-tracking functionality from operating correctly.

4. Where Information Is Stored

Information transmitted by the App is sent to Amyga's own API, which is hosted using Railway.

The application's data is stored in a MySQL database hosted through Railway.

Amyga does not use Firebase, advertising SDKs, or third-party analytics SDKs in the App.

Railway provides infrastructure and hosting services for Amyga's API and database. Railway does not determine the purposes for which Amyga processes teacher, student, attendance, or location information.

5. Who Can Access the Information

Access to information is restricted according to the user's role and responsibilities.

Teacher information may be accessible to authorized Amyga administrators and other personnel who require it for legitimate administrative purposes.

Student information may be accessible to authorized Amyga teachers and administrators where necessary to deliver, manage, or oversee educational programs.

Attendance and location information may be accessible to authorized Amyga personnel where necessary for attendance management, authorized live tracking, safeguarding, or related administrative purposes.

Amyga does not sell personal information.

6. Sharing of Information

Amyga does not sell, rent, or trade teacher, student, attendance, or location information.

Personal information may be processed by:

• Authorized Amyga teachers, administrators, and staff where necessary for educational or administrative purposes;

• Railway, as the infrastructure and hosting provider for Amyga's API and MySQL database;

• Google Play services, to provide the location functionality used by the App on Android devices; or

• Governmental, regulatory, or law-enforcement authorities where disclosure is required by applicable law or valid legal process.

We do not use third-party advertising networks or third-party analytics services to collect information from the App.

7. Student and Children's Information

The App may process information relating to children and other minors.

The collection and processing of student information is limited to information reasonably required for Amyga's educational and administrative activities.

Student information, including academic progress, is entered by authorized teachers and is used to support students' educational development and to administer Amyga's programs.

Student information is not sold and is not used for advertising or behavioral advertising.

Access to student information is restricted to authorized Amyga personnel based on their educational or administrative responsibilities.

8. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, loss, misuse, or destruction.

Information transmitted between the App and Amyga's API is protected using encrypted network communications such as HTTPS/TLS.

Access to the App and associated information is controlled through authentication and authorization mechanisms.

Access to backend data is restricted to authorized personnel and systems.

Despite these measures, no electronic storage or transmission system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

9. Data Retention

We retain teacher, student, attendance, academic, and location information only for as long as reasonably necessary for legitimate educational, administrative, operational, safeguarding, legal, and record-keeping purposes.

Teacher records may be retained for the duration of the teacher's relationship with Amyga and for a reasonable period thereafter where required for legitimate administrative or legal purposes.

Student records may be retained for as long as necessary to administer educational programs, maintain appropriate educational records, meet safeguarding requirements, or comply with applicable obligations.

Attendance records may be retained as part of Amyga's educational and administrative records.

Location information collected for attendance or authorized live tracking will be retained only for as long as reasonably necessary for the relevant operational, administrative, safeguarding, or legal purposes.

When information is no longer required, Amyga will take reasonable steps to delete or anonymize it, subject to applicable legal or legitimate record-retention requirements.

10. Data Correction and Deletion Requests

Teacher accounts are created and managed by Amyga administrators. Users cannot independently create accounts through the App.

A teacher who wishes to correct or request deletion of their personal information may contact Amyga using the contact details below.

Requests concerning student information may be made by an appropriately authorized person. Because student information may concern minors, Amyga may take reasonable steps to verify the identity and authority of a person making such a request.

Requests concerning attendance or location information may similarly be subject to verification.

Where information is required to be retained for legitimate legal, safeguarding, security, or record-keeping purposes, Amyga may retain that information for the applicable period.

11. Device Permissions

The App requests access to device location through Android's location permission system.

Location permission is used to obtain location information for attendance and authorized live-tracking functionality as described in this Privacy Policy.

The App does not request access to contacts, photographs, advertising identifiers, or other device information unless such functionality is subsequently introduced and appropriately disclosed.

12. Third-Party Services

The App does not use Firebase, advertising SDKs, or third-party analytics SDKs.

Google Play services Location is used to obtain device location for the App's attendance and authorized live-tracking functionality.

Railway is used as the hosting infrastructure for Amyga's API and MySQL database.

These services are used to provide the technical infrastructure necessary for the App's functionality and are not used by Amyga for advertising or behavioral profiling.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the App, our data practices, applicable laws, or regulatory requirements.

When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the beginning of this Privacy Policy.

The current version of this Privacy Policy will be made available through our website and, where appropriate, within the App.
