UNICEF has called out the criticality of early childhood education among children in India.
“The early years (0 to 8 years) are the most extraordinary period of growth and development in a child’s lifetime. Over 43 per cent of children under the age of five are at risk of not fulfilling their full developmental potential."
Early childhood education positively impacts attendance, retention, and learning of children in elementary and higher education.
Despite the recognition of the importance of ECE by the Government of India, the challenges in implementation still remain. There are still substantial numbers of children not enrolled in preschools.
“Children who are nurtured and well cared for are more likely to fully develop cognitive, language, emotional and social skills; to grow up healthier, and to have higher self-esteem. Each one of these areas is crucial to our well-being as adults; our experiences in early childhood truly shape who we ultimately become.”
Preschools play an important role in shaping a child’s mind. They should provide a structured learning environment, and a child-centric curriculum. In this approach, the child is given the time and freedom to explore and learn, unlike in a teacher-centric curriculum.
We believe that a happy and confident child becomes a successful student. Hence, it is important that the preschool provides an environment in which the child feels safe and confident to learn by exploration and discovery. We at Amyga Academy, believe that each child is unique, and our curriculum is designed to support each child according to his/her ability and interests.
Our students are treated with politeness and respect, with the objective of grooming them to become self-disciplined and responsible adults. Our curriculum has a blend of individual and group learning activities which makes the child independent, while developing his/her socio-emotional skills.
We have partnered with Kreedo Early Childhood Solutions, a Bangalore based company which has been providing Montessori-based preschool solutions to over 1400 preschools, impacting 1,00,000 students over the past 7 to 8 years. They provide us with the material, the curriculum, learning objectives, teacher training, and a detailed assessment framework to track the progress of each child across various parameters.
